Job Summary

Plexos Group is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Public Assistance/Grant Management Specialist. This role requires a strong background in project management, emergency management, and financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage project worksheets and timelines to ensure timely responsiveness to federal requests and program reporting.
  • Support document collection and audit requirements for the Public Assistance program.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to clients and sub-recipients on program administration, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage and monitor project implementation, management, evaluation, and close-out according to federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure sub-recipient compliance with federal and state requirements by overseeing agreements, contracts, expenses, and activities.
  • Review and monitor project costs and approve budget justifications and revisions.
  • Prepare accurate requests and reports for payment from federal and state grant sources.
  • Review and process reimbursement requests while providing ongoing eligibility determinations.
  • Assist project managers in obtaining and recording accurate project work records.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience working with the Public Assistance program and 5 years total experience in project management, emergency management, financial compliance, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience working with the Public Assistance program and 10 years total experience in project management, emergency management, financial compliance, or a related field.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in emergency management, accounting, finance, business management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the Public Assistance program and associated policies, procedures, and federal requirements.
  • Ability to learn and apply working knowledge of government organizations, operations, and emergency management programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Organized, flexible, and able to prioritize in a multi-demand environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and construct professional presentations.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
