Overview

The Vice President of Healthcare Operations plays a pivotal role in supporting the operational leadership by addressing daily challenges and spearheading cross-functional initiatives. This position serves as a representative of the operations department to both internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships with clinical and management teams. The role is essential in promoting employee engagement throughout the organization.

This is a full-time, exempt position that offers a comprehensive benefits package.

LifeLong Medical Care is a prominent, multi-site Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare and social services to a diverse patient population. Our patient-centered health home provides a dynamic environment for professional growth and practice. We operate over 15 primary care health centers and offer integrated services, including psychosocial support, referrals, chronic disease management, dental care, health education, home visits, and more. Benefits

Compensation: $138k - $158k/year. We provide excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision (with dependent and domestic partner coverage), generous leave benefits, and a 403(b) retirement savings plan.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates collaboration among regional clinics and supports departmental initiatives such as compliance, quality improvement, billing, eligibility, call center operations, pharmacy, planning, purchasing, and human resources.
  • Engages with clinic sites to maintain relationships with health center leadership, monitor initiative progress, gather staff feedback, and implement best practices.
  • Acts as a liaison for the Vice President of Healthcare Operations to various internal and external stakeholders, including Clinical Development, Compliance, Practice Transformation, Finance, Billing, and contracted services.
  • Assists in identifying problems, analyzing data, making recommendations, and developing actionable plans.
  • Ensures staff are proficient in utilizing Electronic Health Records.
  • Co-leads improvement and standardization initiatives, reporting outcomes to various audiences, including staff and senior management.
  • Supports recruitment, development, retention, and oversight of management personnel.
  • Assists managers with business case development and variance reporting.
  • Collaborates with Center Directors on employment matters, including disciplinary actions and compliance with HR policies.
  • Implements and monitors continuous Quality Improvement processes and ensures regulatory readiness within clinical departments.
  • Supervises centralized operations staff, including the Director of Patient Services, Central Referrals Manager, Health Information Manager, and other assigned staff.
  • Provides administrative support to the VP of Health Center Operations, including preparing internal communications, meeting agendas, reports, and project updates.
  • Interprets and integrates federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Monitors operations, programs, policies, and facilities in collaboration with regional Health Center Directors to ensure compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Manages budgets in collaboration with regional Health Center Directors and Program Managers, including annual development and monthly reviews.
  • Oversees the professional development of managers and staff to promote growth.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of management experience in an outpatient or related healthcare environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate understanding across diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility and strong project leadership skills, capable of driving large, cross-functional programs to achieve strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Access to reliable transportation with current insurance for travel among clinic sites.
  • Experience supervising a diverse workforce.

Job Preferences

  • Experience in Community Health or FQHC in a similar capacity.
