Job Overview
Position: Medical Assistant/Secretary - Nuvance Health

Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 for External Hires Only

Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 Hours per week, Variable 8-hour shifts between 7:45 AM - 5:30 PM.

Role Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations within the medical practice. Your role is vital in preparing both the patient and examination areas for optimal service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcome patients and escort them from the waiting area to the clinical space, performing necessary intake procedures and documenting vital information such as vital signs, medications, and allergies.

  • Accurately transcribe and update patient data in the medical record, including demographic and medical history.
  • Perform clerical tasks related to patient care, including organizing patient charts and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Stay updated with the EMR Orders Reconciliation process as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination area after each patient visit.
  • Prepare patients for their appointments by ensuring all necessary supplies and educational materials are available.
  • Conduct in-office tests as directed and coordinate with external services as needed.
  • Collect and process specimens as instructed, ensuring accurate logging in the patient record.
  • Manage inventory and upkeep of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and training to new colleagues regarding office procedures.
  • Conduct audits as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate competencies in in-office surgical procedures under RN supervision.
  • Engage with patients and colleagues following service excellence standards.
  • Adhere to all compliance responsibilities associated with the role.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or GED. Recent graduates from a Medical Assistant program, Nursing Assistant training, EMT certification, or those with three years of relevant experience in a medical office are encouraged to apply. Basic medical knowledge and terminology are essential, along with proficiency in obtaining accurate vital signs.

Preferred:
CPR certification is advantageous.

Language Skills:
Bi-lingual candidates are preferred.

Salary:
$29.51 per hour
