Dedicated Supervisor for Substance Abuse Counseling Required

Position Summary:

The Substance Abuse Counseling Supervisor will oversee the team of Counselors and Counselor Interns delivering therapeutic and case management services to clients, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and BayMark's operational standards. This role involves timely documentation of client interactions in accordance with the established care plans. The Supervisor will also assess the comprehensive needs—physical, psychological, social, and spiritual—of assigned clients while managing associated costs responsibly within the framework of the organization's budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guarantee the effective and efficient provision of counseling services to all clients.
  • Monitor the treatment and counseling processes for all clients.
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance.
  • Allocate counselors' caseloads and adjust as necessary.
  • Evaluate potential clients and determine their eligibility for services.
  • Facilitate the intake process or assist in its execution.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of client files.
  • Complete and submit reports regarding client fatalities, as required.
  • Review and endorse assessments and treatment plans for accuracy and quality for Counselor Interns.
  • Manage all counseling personnel, facilitating performance improvement discussions, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Assist in the training of new hires.
  • Participate in the interview process for open positions.
  • Engage in staff meetings.
  • May be required to manage a caseload of clients.
  • Support monitoring of employee attendance.
  • Assist in the completion of incident reports.
  • Provide guidance to counselors pursuing licensure and/or certification.
  • Oversee annual training for counseling staff and ensure completion.
  • Facilitate employee performance evaluations and discussions.
  • Communicate concerns from the clinic, employees, and clients to staff and leadership.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Contribute to program development initiatives.
  • Adhere to a code of conduct that aligns with BayMark Services policies.
  • Consistently meet or exceed the Company's Service Standards.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor in CA with supervisory experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science or equivalent experience; a graduate-level degree is preferred.
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment, the ability to create comprehensive treatment plans, and proficiency in accurate documentation and communication skills are essential.
  • Prior experience working with individuals facing chemical dependency is advantageous. A positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards the client population is required.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check is mandatory.
Compensation Package:

Annual salary ranges from $66,000 to $67,496.

The salary for selected candidates will be determined based on various factors, including experience, education, specialty, and training.
