Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on Kongsberg control systems.
  • Interpret technical drawings and control system layouts.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in PC skills, including networking and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize multimeters and software tools for diagnosing communication or loop errors.
  • Possess knowledge of Power Management Systems, including generators and governor control for main engines.
  • Work with AC/DC electrical motors.
  • Modify or enhance control logic as necessary.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, 232, 422, 485, and TCP/IP.
  • Timely completion and submission of timesheets and expense reports.
  • Take ownership of assigned cases and service assignments.
  • Propose enhancements to products and communicate needs to the Service Manager or product department.
  • Advise customers on potential upgrades and new product offerings during onboard visits.
  • Implement measures to prevent errors in our service delivery.
  • Assist Aftermarket Sales with quotations for aftersales services.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of fundamental Electrical/Electronic control system principles, including PID controllers and communication protocols.
  • Ability to create and understand technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting low voltage electrical components and using multimeters.
  • Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems and their architecture is preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Possess a valid passport.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, both domestically and internationally.
