Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee all facets of environmental health and safety (EHS) for our personnel and facilities at Rocket Park Factory, as well as other associated locations. This role demands a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, alongside the ability to tackle complex challenges with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for EHS management, supervising a team of EHS professionals at Rocket Park Manufacturing and other designated locations.
  • Establish and implement EHS standards, policies, and procedures to enhance safety programs across the organization.
  • Offer technical guidance on safety protocols related to manufacturing processes, hazardous operations, and the management of hazardous materials.
  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators for EHS, delivering evaluations to site management and recommending improvement strategies.
  • Facilitate the execution of corrective actions and monitor progress towards safety goals.
  • Conduct assessments to identify health, safety, and environmental risks in the workplace, providing actionable recommendations for mitigation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and preventive measures within operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational EHS standards through thorough evaluations of operations and practices.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and update the Blue Origin Health and Safety Manual to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans in collaboration with local emergency management agencies.
  • Deliver training on safety protocols to new employees.
  • Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, industrial hygiene, or occupational safety.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in safety and environmental management within large-scale manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Experience in process safety management.
  • At least 7 years of managerial or supervisory experience in relevant fields such as aerospace manufacturing or hazardous materials management.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
  • Must be eligible to pass a security background check.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to senior leadership.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in aerospace operations or related industries.
  • Certifications such as CSP or CIH.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
