Role Summary and Qualifications

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Coordinator plays an essential role within the educational leadership framework at HCA Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, assisting the Program Director in managing all facets of the program, in alignment with the standards set by the Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACGME). The GME Coordinator is instrumental in liaising with faculty, residents, specialty boards, hospital stakeholders, and division GME leadership, thus becoming a crucial member of the network of program administrators, GME directors, and senior GME leadership.

In this role, the GME Coordinator will operate with a degree of autonomy while overseeing the daily functions of the program, collaborating closely with the Program Director and Administrative GME Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of one or more residency or fellowship training programs.
  • Facilitate and organize recruitment initiatives and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) procedures.
  • Comprehend the accreditation standards and assist in ensuring adherence to all relevant requirements for the program, residents, and faculty.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation for the program and residents.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation processes for residents.
  • Act as a liaison for residents/fellows to ensure a positive educational experience.
  • Continuously evaluate and manage a variety of programmatic events and processes, including curriculum activities, onboarding, graduation, periodic assessments, budget planning, annual ACGME updates, and accreditation site visits.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment (preferably in Graduate Medical Education or educational roles).
  • Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Residency Management Systems (such as MedHub or New Innovations) is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF software, online meeting platforms, and email communication.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects with accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
