Role Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment strategies, ensuring the achievement of nursing department objectives. Your role is vital within the interdependent healthcare team, and you will be accountable for positive patient and departmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
- Facilitate the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for examinations, providing general nursing care, and coordinating admissions, testing, and discharges.
- Manage and review patient records, including documenting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications according to physician directives.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Respond to and refer incoming calls, which may include phone triage as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; an Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
