Job Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment strategies while achieving departmental goals. You will play a crucial role in our interdependent team, responsible for ensuring positive patient outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the care and accountability for assigned patients.
- Facilitating the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for examinations, providing general nursing care, and coordinating admissions, testing, and discharges.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, including documenting tests and examination results.
- Administering medications as per physician directives.
- Educating patients and families about medications and treatment plans.
- Responding to and managing incoming calls, including phone triage as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; an Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross is required.
