Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment plans while achieving the objectives of the nursing department.
You will be a vital member of the interdependent team, responsible for ensuring positive patient and departmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
- Manage the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for examinations, providing general nursing care and comfort, and coordinating admissions, testing, and discharges.
- Maintain and review patient records, including posting test and examination results.
- Administer medications according to physician orders.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program; an Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice and/or possess an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - ACLS & PALS certification is required.
