Job Overview

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for executing a range of clerical tasks related to shipping and receiving operations. This role involves verifying the details of incoming and outgoing shipments against relevant documentation such as purchase orders and shipping reports, while also performing necessary material handling duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shipping and Receiving:
    • Prepare daily shipping documentation.
    • Process orders in the inventory management system.
    • Organize shipments for carriers including UPS, FedEx, and DHL.
    • Generate and print bills of lading to confirm accuracy of quantity and destination.
    • Handle export documentation and logistics as required.
    • Create all necessary shipping labels, including box and barcode labels.
    • Record all incoming freight into the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
    • Conduct inbound inspections and maintain accurate records.
    • Utilize office equipment as needed.
    • Participate actively in departmental committees.
    • Operate forklifts when necessary.
  • Warehouse Management:
    • Receive and store raw materials efficiently.
    • Distribute raw materials to production teams as requested.
    • Maintain organization and cleanliness within the warehouse.
  • Production Support:
    • Assist with machine operations as required.
  • Inventory Control:
    • Conduct cycle counts and manage scheduling.
    • Ensure completion of inventory tasks.
    • Reconcile variances and investigate discrepancies.
    • Implement long-term corrective actions for inventory issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving is advantageous.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proficient in measuring and weighing items.
  • Experience with RF scanners and ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions for calculating dimensions.
  • Ability to read a ruler accurately and use a calculator effectively.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
