Position Overview

Olsson offers multidisciplinary design services to some of the most prestigious and innovative companies globally. The expansive hyperscale data center campuses we design across the U.S. provide a unique opportunity to engage in some of the most intricate engineering projects currently underway. Our client relationships are built on trust and value, allowing us to contribute to the technological and connected community through the design of essential infrastructure.

The Project Management Associate will oversee mid to large-scale projects and may support Senior Project Managers on complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives. This role encompasses the entire project life cycle, ensuring projects are completed on time and within the defined scope, schedule, and budget. The successful delivery of projects that offer high-quality, purposeful solutions to engineering and design challenges is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble project teams and delegate responsibilities to align technical skills and expertise with project goals.
  • Develop and communicate project scope, schedule, and budget to the project team, clients, and contractors, serving as the primary liaison to keep all parties informed of progress and challenges.
  • Prepare project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure adherence to the planned budget to maintain client satisfaction and contribute to project success.
  • Secure necessary resources throughout all project phases to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Identify potential risks or additional costs in project plans and implement strategies to mitigate impacts.
  • Organize and facilitate regular project meetings with clients and team members to ensure alignment on expectations and performance.
  • Document all project deliverables and maintain comprehensive records, including correspondence, design plans, and other project-related files.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to secure future opportunities.
  • Coordinate contract negotiations.
  • Mentor team members on project management best practices using Olsson's Project Management programs and resources.
  • Adhere to regulations and enforce safety standards.
  • Travel to job sites for observations and client meetings as necessary.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, landscape architecture, or a related field is preferred. An associate degree with equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • A minimum of eight years of project experience in a relevant field with increasing responsibility.
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding client expectations through effective project management.
  • Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
