OBJECTIVE:

The primary aim of this role is to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all guests upon their arrival. This position is responsible for connecting visitors with current and upcoming experiences and facilitating introductions to the appropriate staff to address their needs. The Guest Engagement Specialist acts as an ambassador for the organization through exemplary customer service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exhibit outstanding verbal communication skills and a clear, articulate speaking voice.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities, organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups.

Success in this role requires alignment with the organization's cultural values and a focus on visitor satisfaction. The individual must foster effective working relationships and maintain professional credibility with all staff, management, and volunteers. Demonstrating maturity, sound judgment, a positive attitude, and collaborative spirit is essential.

KEY DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Engage visitors in friendly conversation to welcome, orient, and connect them to available experiences; actively listen and provide solutions as needed.
  • Inform guests about upcoming programs and events to promote these experiences.
  • Manage admissions, program registrations, and other transactions using a database system.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting walk-in visitors, handling phone inquiries, and managing internal communications.
  • Participate in training sessions related to visitor services and institutional knowledge to enhance proficiency and understanding of the organization and community.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role primarily involves a sedentary office setting equipped with a desk, computer, phone, and files. The individual must be able to reach overhead and beneath a desk, sit for extended periods, and handle items weighing up to 20 lbs. Mobility across the organization's campus is necessary. Flexibility in work schedule is crucial, including potential evening and weekend shifts.
