Key Responsibilities:
The Breast Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in identifying breast tissue irregularities by conducting mammographic imaging studies and presenting findings for diagnostic purposes.
  • Welcome patients by verifying their identity, reviewing imaging requests, and confirming any special instructions.
  • Facilitate patient comfort by alleviating anxieties, explaining imaging processes, and addressing any questions.
  • Perform mammography studies by accurately positioning patients, adjusting compression mechanisms, and ensuring proper exposure settings.
  • Minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff by adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Maintain the quality and production of mammograms by following standardized procedures, assessing results, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure the functionality of mammography equipment through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
  • Keep mammography supplies organized and ready for use by managing stock levels and processing necessary orders.
  • Foster a safe and healthy work environment by upholding and enforcing safety standards.
  • Document patient services meticulously by maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Enhance professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and staying updated with industry publications.

Qualifications:
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Completion of formal Radiologic Technology training from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
  • Mammographic Radiologic Technology certification.

Position Details:
Type: Full-time
Hours: 30 hours per week
