The Inclusive Education Specialist, guided by the leadership of the Special Education Program Administrator, is dedicated to delivering exceptional services to students with special needs, spanning from kindergarten through grade 12. This role emphasizes collaboration in the development and execution of tailored educational programs, which encompass specialized instruction, tutorial support, and cooperative engagement with general education personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop individualized education plans in collaboration with parents and educational team members.
- Facilitate learning for students with diverse learning, mental, emotional, and physical challenges.
- Create instructional strategies, both for individuals and small groups, that align with the general education curriculum.
- Collaborate with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to craft educational strategies that foster students' academic, physical, and social growth.
- Prepare educational materials and organize classrooms for effective learning experiences.
- Act as the lead coordinator for the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) alongside general education staff.
- Track student progress and engage in the review and modification of IEPs as necessary.
- Maintain precise student records to ensure accountability and progress tracking.
- Guide and mentor teaching assistants who support students with disabilities.
- Assist students in transitioning between grades and developing essential life skills.
- Evaluate students' abilities and educational requirements while monitoring their performance.
- Engage in discussions regarding student progress with other educators.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication with students and their families.
- Adhere to district policies and procedures to maintain a structured educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid state teaching certificate as mandated by state and district regulations.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an educational setting is preferred.
