Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Services Associate to join our team at Tarrant County College. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining student accounts, processing payments, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff in person, via phone, or via email, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
  • Financial Transactions: Process payments, balance cash drawers, prepare bank deposits, and manage petty cash with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • HigherOne Customer Service: Manage all HigherOne customer service-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Third-Party Sponsorships: Process and invoice third-party sponsorships for student accounts and corporate services, receiving payment and maintaining records.
  • Military Tuition Benefits: Ensure accurate allocation of military tuition benefits to student accounts and return of funds to Veterans Affairs.
  • Payment Plan and Collection: Correspond with payment plan companies and collection agencies to maintain current and past tuition and miscellaneous accounts.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Verify and post details of business transactions, such as returned checks, funds received, and disbursed.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Prepare vouchers, invoices, account statements, requisitions, reports, spreadsheets, and other records as required.
  • Student Account Balances: Analyze and process student account balances and refunds with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Miscellaneous Deposits: Process miscellaneous deposits and maintain accurate records.
  • Student Worker Management: Oversee student worker hiring process and time entry, ensuring compliance with college policies.
  • Employee Support: Distribute employee timecards and paychecks, and maintain lost and found items and campus key inventory.
  • Vending Machine Service: Handle vending machine service issues and refunds.
  • Office Supplies: Order and stock supplies for the office as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Experience: One (1) or more college-level courses in Accounting, Business, Communications, Computer Science, or equivalent training and/or work experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in English and Vietnamese, one (1) year's working experience using Microsoft Excel

  • Financial Management: Ability to handle large amounts of money and records accurately
  • Decision-Making: Ability to review financial data and make decisions
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service and organizational skills
