Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Diversity Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Access (DEIA) Unit, providing essential support to the DEIA Director and team. This position serves as a crucial link between various committees, employee resource groups, and human resources, fostering collaboration and communication across the organization.

Work Environment:

This role offers flexibility with an option for a fully remote work arrangement. An office location may be accessible based on the preferences of the selected candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administrative processes and projects for the DEIA Director and unit.
  • Coordinate meetings, training sessions, and events, managing complex scheduling and logistics.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and ensure accessibility of documents for individuals with disabilities.
  • Establish and maintain organized administrative systems and electronic filing.
  • Manage budget records and purchase orders.
  • Gather information and respond to inquiries effectively.
  • Provide technical support for DEIA-related websites and initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between internal units and external partners.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an executive support role or human resources.
  • Practical knowledge of DEIA principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to addressing the intersectionality of disability and other marginalized communities.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both virtually and in-person.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in technology and software, including Microsoft 365 and virtual meeting platforms.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in team collaboration and relationship building.
  • Understanding of best practices in DEIA.
  • Involvement in employee resource groups or diversity initiatives.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Experience in nonprofit or social justice sectors.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings and events.

Working Conditions:
