Quality Assurance Specialist Job Description

Emerald Technologies, a leading provider of electronic manufacturing services, is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join its team in a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of printed circuit board assemblies, utilizing advanced Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating and maintaining AOI machines to inspect printed circuit board assemblies
  • Conducting visual and dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify adherence to specifications
  • Handling electronic components with care, following established ESD guidelines
  • Communicating defects and quality issues to enhance program integrity
  • Recording inspection results in a database for tracking and analysis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as electronics engineering or quality assurance
  • 3-5 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing, with a focus on quality control
  • Knowledge of AOI equipment and procedures, including IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and specifications
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, with a strong understanding of quality management principles
