OVERVIEW
The Quality Assurance Inspector is tasked with conducting visual, electrical, and dimensional evaluations of printed circuit board assemblies. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to manufacturing documentation, engineering specifications, bill of materials, process-specific guidelines, critical criteria, IPC standards, and other relevant documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Additional duties may be assigned).

  • Conduct visual and dimensional evaluations of printed circuit board assemblies to confirm that workmanship meets the necessary standards derived from engineering specifications, process guidelines, IPC-610 standards, J-STD-001, and client-specific criteria. A solid understanding of IPC Standards is essential.
  • Possess the ability to interpret complex engineering specifications, procedures, and standards to extract information regarding specified materials, electrical, cosmetic requirements, and workmanship instructions.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as smart tweezers, calipers, and pin gauges to assess compliance with electrical and dimensional specifications.
  • Execute inspections using 2D/3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems.
  • Perform X-Ray validations to ensure compliance with IPC standards by monitoring hidden solder joints on bottom-terminated components.
  • Conduct and document results of first article inspections of boards, inputting data into the Statistical Process Control (SPC) database for evaluation.
  • Verify the completeness of documentation as required by internal procedures and work order travelers.
  • Employ computer systems to review various document types and navigate internal databases.
  • Carry out inspections on SMT lines, in-process, sub-assembly, final, shipping, and receiving as necessary.
  • Assist in investigations of failures, root cause analysis, corrective action initiatives, and quality enhancement projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* A minimum of two years of relevant inspection experience in electronics manufacturing.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
* Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, specifications, and PCB gerbers.
* Skilled in electrically measuring resistors and capacitors.
* Experience operating AOI equipment is mandatory.
* Expertise in interpreting component values through part inspections.
* Familiarity with various software applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe).

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
* IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certification is preferred.
