Patient Care Coordinator II

Overview:
The Patient Experience Navigator II is accountable for all tasks associated with level 1 responsibilities, along with additional specialized functions outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:- Comprehensive Duties: Capable of executing all responsibilities linked to Level 1.
- Specialty Proficiency: Must possess expertise in one or more areas such as cross-training across various markets, specialty scheduling (including VIP, oncology, IR, injury scheduling), interpretation services, training, and serving as a subject matter expert for colleagues.
- Collaborative Engagement: Acts as a vital communication link to high-volume referring offices, nurturing long-term relationships with referral contacts. Serves as a liaison with facility personnel and referring physicians, coordinating imaging schedules alongside follow-up and surgical appointments.
- Effective Communication: Works with high-volume referring offices to establish protocols, conveying necessary data such as reports, updates, and appointment confirmations. Secures STAT add-on approvals from technologists or radiologists and assists referring offices in understanding the proper protocols for ordering radiology exams. Ensures consistent and timely communication with referral offices.
- Ongoing Education: Keeps abreast of evolving scheduling knowledge and requirements for imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammograms, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, and diagnostic exams. Seeks guidance from supervisors when uncertain and actively participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Organizational Skills: Effectively organizes and manages time to enhance productivity, meeting departmental scheduling and quality standards. Demonstrates adaptability to change and maintains professionalism in challenging situations.
- Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field
Special Skills:
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a strong background in customer relations within a professional setting.
- Capacity to prioritize and organize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Enhanced problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient keyboarding skills and familiarity with patient registration systems and personal computers.
- Basic knowledge of hospital procedures.
