Role Summary
The Clinical Nurse II operates under moderate supervision and is recognized as a proficient practitioner. This role involves applying the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care and education to families. The nurse is responsible for organizing and executing safe, therapeutic, and effective patient care in structured settings with expected outcomes. The patient demographic ranges from neonates to adults, including geriatric populations.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a degree from an accredited nursing program and hold a current RN license in the State of Maryland. Successful completion of all mandatory hospital, nursing, and unit orientation, including BLS and medication certifications, is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency at the Clinical Nurse I level and meet the criteria for Clinical Nurse II eligibility. ACLS certification is mandatory for specific units, while NALS certification is required for Obstetrical-Nursery or must be completed within six months of starting the position. Specialty certification is preferred. Telemetry Nurses must successfully complete a basic arrhythmia examination and demonstrate the ability to identify critical rhythms and initiate appropriate interventions.
