In this role, you will be accountable for a variety of tasks associated with Level 1 responsibilities, along with additional specialized functions as outlined below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Skill Set: Capable of executing all duties linked to Level 1 responsibilities.
  • Specialization: Proficient in various areas, including cross-training across different markets, specialty scheduling (such as VIP, oncology, interventional radiology), interpretation services, and training. Serve as a reliable resource or subject matter expert for team members.
  • Collaboration: Act as a vital communication link to high-volume referring offices, nurturing long-term relationships with referral contacts. Collaborate with facility staff and referring physicians to coordinate imaging schedules alongside follow-up or surgical appointments.
  • Effective Communication: Work with referring offices to establish protocols, ensuring timely communication of necessary data, including reports and appointment confirmations. Secure STAT approvals from technologists or radiologists and guide referring offices on the correct procedures for ordering radiology exams.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the evolving scheduling requirements for imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammograms, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, and diagnostic exams. Seek guidance when uncertain and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Organizational Skills: Manage time efficiently to enhance productivity, meeting departmental scheduling and quality standards. Adapt positively to change and maintain professionalism in challenging situations, utilizing sound judgment to resolve patient concerns or escalate issues as necessary.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field.

Special Skills:

  • Understanding of basic medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record in customer relations within a professional setting.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated with enhanced problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills and familiarity with patient registration systems and personal computers.
  • Basic knowledge of hospital procedures.
