Role Summary
The Clinical Nurse II operates under moderate supervision, demonstrating competency in nursing practices. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care and educate patients and their families. The Clinical Nurse II is responsible for organizing and executing safe, therapeutic, and effective patient care in structured environments with predictable outcomes. The patient demographic ranges from neonates to geriatric adults.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a degree from an accredited nursing program and hold a current RN license in the State of Maryland. Successful completion of hospital and unit orientation, including BLS and medication certification, is mandatory. Candidates should also meet the proficiency criteria for the Clinical Nurse I level and fulfill the eligibility requirements for Clinical Nurse II. ACLS certification is required for specific units, and NALS certification is preferred for obstetrical-nursery roles. Telemetry Nurses must pass a basic arrhythmia examination and demonstrate the ability to identify critical rhythms and initiate appropriate interventions.
