Role Summary
The Clinical Nurse II operates under moderate supervision and is recognized as a proficient practitioner. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care and educate patients and their families. The nurse is responsible for organizing and executing safe, therapeutic, and effective patient care in controlled environments with predictable outcomes. The patient demographic ranges from neonates to adults and geriatrics.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing program and hold a current RN license in the State of Maryland. Successful completion of the necessary hospital, nursing, and unit orientation is required, including BLS certification and medication certification. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency at the Clinical Nurse I level and meet the eligibility criteria for Clinical Nurse II. ACLS certification is mandatory for specific units, while NALS certification is required for obstetrical-nursery settings or candidates must be willing to complete the course within six months of employment. Certification in a nursing specialty is preferred. Telemetry Nurses must successfully pass a basic arrhythmia examination and possess the ability to identify critical rhythms and seek appropriate interventions.
