Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse II operates under moderate supervision, demonstrating competence as a skilled practitioner. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care and educate patients and their families. The nurse is responsible for organizing and executing safe, therapeutic, and effective patient care within controlled environments, ensuring predictable outcomes. The patient demographic ranges from neonates to adults, including geriatric patients.
Key Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Hold a current RN license in the State of Maryland.
- Successfully complete all mandatory hospital, nursing, and unit orientation, including BLS and medication certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency at the Clinical Nurse I level and meet the eligibility criteria for Clinical Nurse II.
- Possess ACLS certification (required for PACU, ICCU, ED) and NALS certification (required for Obstetrical-Nursery) or be eligible to complete the course within six months of employment.
- Have specialty certification preferred.
- For Telemetry Nurses, pass a basic arrhythmia exam and possess the ability to identify critical rhythms and initiate appropriate interventions.
