Overview:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of activities at Level 1, while also taking on specialized duties as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Duties: Execute all responsibilities associated with Level 1 tasks.
- Specialty Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in areas such as cross-training across various markets, specialty scheduling (including VIP, oncology, and injury scheduling), interpretation services, and training. Serve as a resource or subject matter expert for team members.
- Collaboration: Act as a vital communication link to our high-volume referring offices, fostering enduring relationships with referral contacts. Work closely with facility staff and referring physicians to coordinate imaging schedules alongside follow-up and surgical appointments.
- Effective Communication: Establish protocols with referring offices, ensuring timely communication of necessary data, including reports and appointment confirmations. Secure STAT approvals from technologists or radiologists and guide referring offices on proper protocols for ordering radiology exams.
- Ongoing Education: Stay updated on evolving scheduling requirements for imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammograms, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, and diagnostic exams. Seek guidance from supervisors when uncertain and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Time Management: Organize and manage time efficiently to enhance productivity. Meet departmental scheduling and quality objectives in line with established policies. Adapt positively to change and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field preferred.
Special Skills:
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong background in customer relations within a professional setting.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in teamwork and self-direction, with enhanced problem-solving abilities.
- Strong keyboarding skills and familiarity with patient registration systems and personal computers.
- Basic knowledge of hospital procedures.
