Salary Information:
The position of Lead School Custodian, WS-02, offers a monthly salary of $4,299.00.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees the custodial team in delivering cleaning services for educational facilities;
  2. Assigns tasks, inspects, and supervises the work of staff to ensure that all buildings and grounds are maintained in a clean and organized manner;
  3. Engages in complex maintenance tasks related to plumbing, electrical fixtures, and woodwork that do not require advanced trade skills;
  4. Coordinates custodial staff for special events within the school;
  5. Responsible for the cleaning and operational upkeep of specialized school equipment, including swimming pools and audio systems;
  6. Manages or assists in the cultivation and care of flowers, plants, and lawns;
  7. Orders, receives, and manages janitorial supplies and equipment for the assigned school, conducting regular inventory checks;
  8. Keeps detailed records of supplies used and equipment distributed;
  9. Prepares reports on work completed and any unusual incidents or accidents;
  10. Maintains daily attendance records;
  11. Ensures security measures are upheld for the school;
  12. Manages the operation of lighting systems at appropriate times;
  13. May supervise student helpers when necessary;
  14. May operate machinery such as lawn mowers;
  15. May perform the standard duties of lower-level custodians as needed.

General Experience: Candidates should have progressively responsible work experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Custodial or related cleaning work, including sweeping, dusting, and general cleaning;
  • Grounds maintenance tasks such as cleaning, watering, fertilizing, and mowing;
  • General labor experience, including moving materials and assisting skilled tradespeople.

For the Lead School Custodian role, at least one year of experience must be comparable to that of a custodian in the state service. Candidates must demonstrate supervisory potential through relevant assignments or training.

Quality of Experience: The quantity of experience alone does not guarantee qualification. The applicant's overall experience must reflect the ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.

Salary Note: The stated salary is based on full-time employment and may include applicable differentials.
