Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant III to join our team. As a Medical Assistant III, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with Patients and Families: Provide exceptional customer service and interact with patients, families, and other healthcare team members in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain and Record Vital Signs: Obtain, identify, and record vital signs, prevention data, medications, chief complaints, and other pertinent information.
  • Assist with Patient Procedures: Anticipate providers' needs during patient procedures, adjust to changes in procedures, assignments, or workload as directed by providers.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and well-equipped environment for patients, family members, and staff, adhering to departmental and organizational directives.
  • Coordinate Scheduling and Referrals: Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinate referrals, and ensure accurate and complete information is relayed to staff members.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing and administering monthly calendars, practitioner schedules, and other documents.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Clinical Knowledge: Demonstrate and apply knowledge, skills, and competency in required clinical skills and use of clinical equipment, adhering to organizational, departmental, and clinic-specific standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of a post-high school medical assisting program with 200 hours of clinical externship, military medical specialist training, or completion of two years of on-the-job training in medical assisting.
  • License and Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
