Position Summary: Apheresis Cellular Therapy Collection Registered Nurse

The Apheresis Nurse will conduct apheresis procedures and engage in quality assurance initiatives to uphold the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities include:

  • Executing apheresis procedures using the Spectra Optia device, including but not limited to:
    • Peripheral blood stem cell collection (PBSC)
    • Mononuclear cell (MNC) collection for CAR-T therapy
    • Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) for various conditions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain expertise in apheresis techniques and rationale.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) during all procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including documentation practices and equipment maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have familiarity with the Spectra Optia and Therakos Cellex devices. A solid understanding of FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) regulations is highly desirable.

Work Schedule:

The procedural area operates Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Candidates must possess a degree from an accredited BSN program. Registered nurses hired without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing are encouraged to enroll in a BSN program within two years of their start date.

Experience: A minimum of twelve months of relevant clinical experience is required. Exceptional performers with six months of experience may be considered for this position.

Licensure: Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina is mandatory. BLS certification is also required.
