Position Summary: Apheresis Cellular Therapy Collection Registered Nurse
The role involves performing apheresis procedures and engaging in quality assurance activities to uphold the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct apheresis procedures, which include separating whole blood into its components and returning the remaining parts to the patient.
- Utilize the Spectra Optia device for various procedures, including:
- Peripheral blood stem cell collection (PBSC)
- Mononuclear cell (MNC) collection for CAR-T cell therapy
- Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) for specific medical conditions
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the Spectra Optia and Therakos Cellex devices is advantageous. Familiarity with FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) standards is highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited BSN program is required. Registered nurses hired under specific conditions are encouraged to pursue a BSN within a designated timeframe.
Experience: A minimum of twelve months of relevant clinical experience is necessary. Exceptional performers with six months of experience may be considered for this level.
Licensure: Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina is mandatory. BLS certification is also required.
