Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Services Representative to join our team at JVS SoCal. As a Business Services Representative, you will play a critical role in helping our clients achieve their employment goals by providing them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update job resource centers and job boards on a regular basis to ensure that clients have access to the latest job opportunities.
  • Assist clients with their job search, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job application assistance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities and provide clients with information about job openings.
  • Conduct job fairs and other recruitment events to connect clients with potential employers.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to clients to help them overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career goals.
  • Collaborate with other workforce development professionals to ensure that clients receive comprehensive support and services.
  • Monitor client progress and provide regular feedback to ensure that clients are meeting their employment goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, education, or social work.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in sales, recruitment, or workforce development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of labor market information and employer requirements.
  • Ability to speak another language and understand another culture, as required by the program or local community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with dislocated workers and high-risk populations.
  • Knowledge of CalJOBS and LaunchPad system.
  • Skills in facilitating groups, writing resumes, and working with diverse populations.
  • Public speaking and presentations skills.
Physical Demands

The incumbent must be able to stand for extended periods, sit for extended periods, bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions, climb up and down stairs, bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials, pull, push, and lift, reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required. Travel to employer and client work sites is frequent. May be required to work some evenings and an occasional weekend day. Requires traveling to various business and other work sites as well.
