POSITION SUMMARY

As a Commodity Management Lead, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in formulating and executing sourcing strategies for commodities. This role encompasses responsibilities such as conducting quotations, analyzing bids, recommending suppliers, awarding contracts, and managing both new and existing supplier agreements. Additionally, the candidate will focus on supplier development, risk management, and cost-saving initiatives aligned with the objectives of the Landing Systems division.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a hybrid model at the Oakville Facility in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commodity and supplier development strategies that align with the strategic goals of the Business Unit and the organization.
  • Conduct Request for Quotations (RFQs) and perform comprehensive bid analyses.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts with suppliers.
  • Coordinate efforts to enhance supplier performance, expedite requests, and provide onsite support for critical recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with Operational Procurement, Engineering, and Program Management to ensure the successful launch of new programs and the effective transition of production requirements to new suppliers.
  • Support various projects including buy-to-buy, buy-to-make, and make-to-buy initiatives.
  • Assist in the formulation of broad-based commodity or supplier strategies.
  • Drive special projects in collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams across the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A University Degree is typically required, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Commodity Management, or Supplier Quality. Alternatively, an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience or, in the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and presentation using Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Candidates must comply with ITAR and CCGP requirements and be eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Background in Aerospace or Automotive industries.
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain practices and Commodity Management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly with suppliers and senior leadership.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • A proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proven team-building, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management abilities.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to meet commitments.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing project plans, overcoming challenges, and resolving issues independently.
  • Technical or manufacturing knowledge.
