The Film Strategy and Business Development division is a prominent team that collaborates closely with senior executive management across NBCUniversal and Comcast.

This group partners with various business units within Universal Filmed Entertainment to address a wide array of strategic initiatives, including assessing potential acquisitions, analyzing global distribution strategies, and identifying new business ventures.

Universal Filmed Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled individual for the role of Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives. This position will oversee deal analysis activities across Universal Filmed Entertainment.

Key responsibilities will encompass film greenlighting, research, analysis, modeling, and providing recommendations based on emerging industry trends, new business prospects, and existing operations.

This role offers unique exposure to a diverse range of businesses within the media and entertainment sector.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing daily support to the Business Affairs team during deal negotiations through financial scenario analysis.
2. Leading junior team members in preparing film ultimate P&Ls related to film acquisitions, financing, and production.
3. Evaluating the impact of distribution strategies (theatrical and non-theatrical) and windowing economics on film profitability.
4. Assisting the Chief Business Officer in formulating and executing cross-portfolio initiatives and strategies across the NBCU Studio Group.
5. Collaborating closely with teams across Universal Pictures throughout the film greenlight process.
6. Developing presentations for executive management regarding current initiatives within UFEG and NBCU Studio Group.
7. Mentoring junior team members to ensure the highest quality of deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, strategic planning, or financial planning & analysis roles.

- At least seven (7) years of experience in content deal analysis within the entertainment industry, including film or television studios, streaming platforms, production companies, or talent agencies.

Desired Qualifications:
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with significant experience in financial modeling.
- In-depth understanding of the film industry, the broader media landscape, and relevant business models.
- Proven track record of hands-on Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation experience.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with multiple levels of management, from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and external partners, in a fast-paced and innovative corporate environment.

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex analyses into easily understood recommendations for senior management and key stakeholders.

- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and to mentor junior team members.

- Proven capability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision and a willingness to actively drive tasks to completion.


Work Arrangement:

This position is designated as hybrid, generally requiring in-office contributions a minimum of three days per week.

Compensation:
Salary range: $190,000 – 250,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
