Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Event Management Coordinator to join our team at Marriott. As an Event Management Coordinator, you will assist in planning and execution of meetings and special events, implement departmental strategies, and promote and execute all property events with a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing meetings and special events operations and budgets
  • Lead the team to meet and exceed daily/weekly goals including, but not limited to, sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, safety, etc.
  • Research and analyze new products, pricing and services of competition
  • Assist in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations
  • Assist in execution of event management strategy that is aligned with the company's business strategy and leads its execution
  • Conduct daily walk-through of banquet floor to help promote client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Learn, operate and train employees on software systems used in events such as ticketing, retail, inventory, space usage, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality, or related major; 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a comparable professional area
