Overview of Responsibilities:
This role involves direct interaction with patients who have pending balances with the clinic and are unable to settle their accounts in full for services not covered by their insurance providers.
The coordinator will assist patients in establishing payment plans that align with the clinic's financial policies.Additionally, the role requires providing guidance to patients regarding financial options while fostering positive relationships with them.
Key Responsibilities:

- Advise patients on financial arrangements in accordance with the clinic's collection guidelines.
- Initiate payment arrangement discussions through patient outreach.
- Collaborate with patients who have outstanding self-pay balances.
- Liaise with other departments within the Business Office concerning patient accounts.
- Flexibility in work schedule is essential.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy when interacting with patients, particularly in challenging situations.
- Maintain a positive demeanor while managing difficult conversations.
- Adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Effectively communicate with patients, healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and colleagues.
- Exhibit strong communication skills to uphold the quality of service required for the department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in collections is preferred.
- Familiarity with credit policies and billing practices.
- Basic computer skills are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Prior experience in a medical setting is beneficial.
Work Environment:
The position is primarily office-based, involving regular interaction with staff and the public. The role may involve stressful situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Capability to stand and walk as needed.
- Occasional bending and stretching may be required.
- Proficient use of a telephone and computer keyboard is necessary.
- Vision must be correctable to 20/30 and hearing should be within normal limits.
