Component Parts Logistics Specialist

Job Overview
Under direct supervision, this role involves performing both manual and administrative tasks associated with the shipment and receipt of component parts and finished products.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and maintain accurate records for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Review orders to ensure correct part numbers and descriptions are selected, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Process customer orders for shipping via UPS and LTL to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of packing materials including cartons, tapes, and crates.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through phone and in-person interactions, responding to inquiries regarding parts information in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and initiate standard corrective actions as necessary.
- Alert management when inventory levels are low or when orders may deplete stock.
- Ensure the warehouse and stock areas are kept organized, clean, and orderly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Proficiency in operating materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is required.
- Previous experience in customer service is highly desirable.
Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with shipping services such as UPS and FedEx.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a willingness to assist others and accept help when needed.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient in reading and comprehending written instructions.
Physical Requirements
- The position typically involves working in a warehouse/office setting with a low to moderate noise level.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift materials weighing up to 51 lbs.
- The role requires frequent telephone and computer work, along with interaction with colleagues and customers.
- Effective communication skills, including reading, writing, and listening, are essential.
