POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, the Parts Associate is responsible for executing manual and administrative tasks associated with the dispatch and receipt of component parts and finished products. This role includes the verification and maintenance of records for incoming and outgoing shipments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examine orders for accurate part numbers and descriptions to ensure the correct items are selected. Address and rectify any discrepancies promptly.
- Process and verify customer orders for shipping via UPS and LTL to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain an adequate supply of packaging materials such as cartons, tapes, crates, clamps, and foam.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through phone and in-person interactions. Respond to inquiries regarding parts information promptly.
- Assess and resolve customer issues, initiating standard corrective action procedures as necessary.
- Alert management when inventory levels of specific items are low or when orders may deplete available stock. Ensure sufficient parts inventory to meet customer demands.
- Keep the warehouse and stock areas organized, tidy, and clean.
- A high school diploma or GED is required, along with three years of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Experience operating materials handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet handlers, is essential. Previous customer service experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with shipping services such as UPS and FedEx.
- Strong computer and organizational abilities.
- A collaborative team player who is willing to assist others and accept help when needed.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and methodically.
- Adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
- A friendly demeanor with excellent communication skills.
Work Environment:
- Typically, work is conducted in a warehouse or office setting with a low to moderate noise level.
- Requires prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 51 lbs.
- Involves telephone and computer work, along with interactions with colleagues and customers.
- Effective reading, writing, listening, and communication skills are necessary.
