Component Parts Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, this role involves performing both manual and administrative tasks associated with the receipt and dispatch of component parts and finished products. The individual is responsible for verifying and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examines orders for accuracy in part numbers and descriptions to ensure the correct items are selected. Identifies and rectifies order discrepancies promptly.
- Processes customer orders for shipping via UPS and LTL to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintains an adequate supply of packaging materials such as cartons, tapes, crates, clamps, and foam.
- Delivers exceptional customer service through phone and in-person interactions. Responds to inquiries regarding parts information in a timely manner.
- Addresses and resolves customer issues, initiating standard corrective action procedures as necessary.
- Alerts management when inventory levels of specific items are low or when orders may deplete stock. Ensures sufficient parts availability to meet customer demands.
- Keeps the warehouse and stock areas organized, tidy, and clean.
- A high school diploma or GED is required, along with three years of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Experience operating materials handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, is preferred. Previous customer service experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with shipping services such as UPS and FedEx.
- Strong computer and organizational abilities.
- A collaborative team player who is willing to assist others and accept help when needed.
- Capable of performing repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
- Possesses a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and an approachable personality.
Non-Manufacturing Environment:
- Work is typically conducted in a warehouse or office setting with a low to moderate noise level.
- Requires prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting.
- Must be able to lift boxes or materials weighing up to 51 lbs.
- Involves telephone and computer work, as well as interaction with colleagues and customers.
- Effective reading, writing, listening, and communication skills are essential.
