Responsibilities
The Patient Registration Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless patient experience during the registration phase. Utilizing outstanding customer service skills, the representative is tasked with the following primary responsibilities:
  1. Accurate patient identification
  2. Collecting comprehensive patient demographic information
  3. Obtaining and verifying insurance details and eligibility
  4. Assessing and collecting patient financial responsibilities
  5. Referring patients to the Patient Registration Specialist for financial counseling and assistance as necessary

The Patient Registration Representative adheres to the organization's policies and procedures regarding the management of patient financial obligations. Additionally, this role serves as a vital resource for patients and their families, clarifying hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and patient rights.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office, healthcare insurance company, or related revenue cycle roles (2 years preferred).
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education may substitute for experience.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and medical terminology.
  • Basic mathematical skills for payment calculations and intermediate to advanced computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with charity care programs and various government and non-government assistance programs.

Pay Range: $25.19/hour
