Job Summary

Havenwood of Burnsville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Plant Operations to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our community's physical plant. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in facilities management, maintenance operations, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and counseling employees.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure the community's physical plant is well-maintained and in good working order.
  • Coordinate life safety and security programs, including emergency power generating equipment, fire and life safety equipment, and fire drill and safety inspection reports.
  • Procure supplies, materials, and equipment as needed, and assist with budget preparation and operating within budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ordinances.
  • Advise and consult with the Executive Director on short- and long-range planning to ensure the community's physical plant and grounds are maintained in a good state of repair.
  • Participate in the planning of the annual departmental budget and ensure all expenditures remain within budget allowances.
  • Maintain a proper level of service repair parts for electrical, plumbing, laundry, lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, hardware, locks, batteries, tools, expendable supplies, emergency telephone, and security equipment.
  • Maintain and adjust computerized controls for HVAC and other equipment as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent in relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Maintenance supervisor experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
