Job Summary

Havenwood of Burnsville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Plant Operations to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our community's physical plant. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in facilities management, maintenance operations, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and counseling employees.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure the upkeep of all community facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate life safety and security programs, including emergency power generation, fire safety, and security systems.
  • Procure and manage maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment, and assist with budget preparation and management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ordinances related to facilities management and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement short- and long-range plans for community physical plant and grounds maintenance.
  • Participate in the planning and management of the annual departmental budget, ensuring that all expenditures remain within budget allowances.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree or relevant education, training, and experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in maintenance supervision or facilities management, with a strong background in maintenance operations and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
