ROLE SUMMARY:

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business opportunities through prospecting, cold-calling, and closing deals. They will manage and grow a geographical territory of accounts through phone sales, customer visits, account management, customer service, and retention strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify potential markets and accounts by analyzing current trends and needs for growth, researching territories and markets, and creating lists of key potential accounts.
  • Grow assigned territory by adding new accounts through developing clear and effective proposals and quotations that highlight product features and benefits.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business.
  • Initiate sales processes through cold-calling, building relationships, qualifying potential customers, and growing existing business within the assigned territory.
  • Contribute to the company's reputation by putting the customer first, treating employees with respect, responding quickly to customer requests, and conducting business with integrity.
  • Manage territory by handling customer issues, visiting key accounts, calling accounts who fall off order averages, retaining accounts at risk, and finding key decision makers.
  • Provide consistent and accurate internal and external communications.
  • Stay educated on industry trends, product solutions, and innovations.
  • Travel to see customers in person.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience.
  • Possession of at least a high school diploma and a post-secondary degree is required.
  • Technical acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Demonstrated ability to take charge and solve problems.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers through a consultative sales approach.
