Position Overview:

The Development and Marketing Assistant plays a crucial role in planning and executing fundraising and marketing strategies that align with the agency's mission of serving children and families. This position encompasses managing various aspects of donor relations, including acknowledgment letters, receipts, and recognition, as well as maintaining the agency's fundraising database, crafting marketing strategies and materials, and providing essential administrative support. This role also aims to enhance the visibility of Tides Family Services by engaging the public, attracting new audiences, and expanding our reach through social media, website management, digital marketing, advertising, and public relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the VP of Development and Communications with donor management by organizing and analyzing prospect research data, donor trends, and opportunities to broaden the agency's donor base.
  • Oversee all stages of the gift management process, including data entry, donor acknowledgment letters, reconciliation with the finance team, and maintaining digital records and reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the agency's fundraising database to assess the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns.
  • Conduct market research throughout the state to identify potential target donors.
  • Design and implement local marketing initiatives utilizing both traditional and digital media.
  • Develop creative strategies to connect with potential service recipients, stakeholders, and donors.
  • Manage the agency's social media platforms and content calendar to enhance engagement, reach, and brand awareness.
  • Create written content and graphic elements for branded emails, social media posts, campaigns, and marketing materials.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for new content and public relations projects that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and effectively interact with external constituents, consultants, and vendors.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain relationships with clients, team members, and funders.
  • Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Entry-level marketing experience with a minimum of 2-4 years in coordinating marketing and/or advertising campaigns, including online placements.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and editing skills are essential.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new techniques quickly.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for graphic design and detail.
  • Proficiency in various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Interest and knowledge of current events and marketing trends within specific geographic areas.
