Position Overview: The role of the Associate Portfolio Manager involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the underwriting, closing, and funding stages of loans in the Secondary market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the reporting of essential corporate banking metrics to relevant internal departments, encompassing originations, portfolio balances, fees, disbursements, and payoffs.
  • Generate and maintain customer portfolio reports and other necessary documentation, including quarterly covenant monitoring and leveraged lending reports, ensuring timely completion.
  • Conduct weekly analyses of the Corporate Banking Portfolio, focusing on overdue accounts, payment processing, and interest rate adjustments.
  • Oversee the performance of the loan portfolio, including financial outcomes, share price updates, and relevant news.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate banking and internal support teams, as well as agent banks.
  • Assist the corporate banking team in preparing client presentations, waivers/amendments, and documentation summarizing client interactions.
  • Support the preparation of credit reviews and maintain all necessary logs.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Gain a working knowledge of Credit Analysis by collaborating with the Corporate Banking team.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints in alignment with FirstBank's commitment to excellent service.
  • Help implement operational policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and banking regulations.
  • Monitor bank-wide policies related to corporate banking and leveraged lending.
  • Collaborate with closing, risk, servicing, and other departments on inquiries related to KYC, tickler reports, and pending items.

Database Management: Maintain and update the corporate banking database, including lender sites and internal credit files.

Cross-Selling Initiatives: Promote FirstBank's services and products to enhance client engagement.

Additional Duties: Undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities to gain familiarity with various departmental functions.

Independence of Judgment: Exercise judgment in accordance with established internal policies and guidelines.

Impact of Errors: Recognize that errors in this position can affect operations across departments and have financial implications for customers and the bank.

Interpersonal Skills: Foster positive interactions with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong mathematical and communication skills, along with prior experience in a financial institution. A solid understanding of branch operations, products, and services is essential. Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers and calculators, is required. Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods and communicate effectively.

Work Environment: This position is primarily office-based, with a comfortable working environment. Employees may be required to represent the corporation at external events and may need to work extended hours during peak times.

Training and Experience: A formal education in banking products and a minimum of three years of relevant experience are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role.
