Position Overview: The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders during the underwriting, closing, and funding stages of loans within the Secondary market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure smooth loan processing.
  • Assist in reporting critical corporate banking metrics to relevant departments, including originations, portfolio balances, and fees.
  • Prepare and maintain customer portfolio reports and other necessary documentation, ensuring timely completion.
  • Conduct weekly analyses of the Corporate Banking Portfolio, focusing on past due accounts and payment processing.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the loan portfolio, including share price updates and relevant news.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate banking and internal support teams, as well as agent banks.
  • Support the corporate banking team in preparing client presentations and documentation.
  • Assist in credit reviews and maintain accurate logs.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits as required.
  • Develop a solid understanding of Credit Analysis to support the Corporate Banking team.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues in line with FirstBank's service standards.
  • Implement operational policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Oversee bank-wide policies related to corporate banking and leveraged lending.
  • Collaborate with various departments on inquiries related to KYC, tickler reports, and other pending items.

Database Management: Maintain and update the corporate banking database, including lender sites and internal credit files.

Cross-Selling: Promote FirstBank's services and products to enhance customer engagement.

Additional Duties: Perform other ad-hoc tasks as necessary to gain comprehensive knowledge of departmental functions.

Independence of Judgment: Exercise judgment in accordance with established internal policies and guidelines.

Impact of Errors: Recognize that errors in this role could affect operations across departments and have financial implications for customers and the bank.

Communication Skills: Foster positive interactions with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Strong mathematical and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution is preferred.
  • Understanding of branch operational functions, products, and services.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers and calculators.
  • Able to work for extended periods and manage workload during peak times.

Work Environment: This position is primarily office-based, with a comfortable working environment. Occasional external representation may be required.

Training and Experience: A formal background in banking products and at least three years of relevant experience is necessary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
