Role Overview:
The Portfolio Management division at Blackstone is seeking an Analyst to join its Portfolio Insights team. This team's primary responsibility is to prepare, assess, analyze, and summarize portfolio performance on both a fund and investment level. These activities are essential for supporting the strategic initiatives and valuations within Private Equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine templates for data collection and analysis of asset-level metrics, ensuring consistency across the portfolio.
- Monitor and analyze performance data at the asset, fund, and portfolio levels.
- Update KPI dashboards for portfolio companies to reflect actual performance, conducting variance analyses against plans and evaluating value creation drivers throughout the investment holding period.
- Enhance portfolio monitoring and valuation reporting processes and analytics.
- Engage in discussions and provide deliverables to various stakeholders, including Deal Teams, Portfolio Operations, Asset Managers, and Senior Management.
- Support the portfolio review process and contribute to various ad hoc initiatives and projects.
- Assist in improving the Finance Group's reporting processes and analytics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field preferred, though strong candidates from other disciplines may be considered; a solid academic record is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial or business analytics role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and meet competing deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or independently.
- Familiarity with iLevel, Alteryx, and Tableau is advantageous.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or SQL is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
Compensation:
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. Actual base salary will be determined by various factors, including the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.
