ZipRecruiter is in search of dedicated and innovative Applied Scientists who possess a robust background in machine learning to contribute to the development of cutting-edge Conversational AI Systems.

Our objective is to enhance the user experience for our clients by advancing the field of Natural Language Understanding (NLU), Dialog Systems, and Generative AI utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and Applied Machine Learning (ML).


Role Responsibilities

As a vital member of our AI team, you will collaborate with globally recognized experts to create groundbreaking algorithms and modeling strategies that push the boundaries of human-technology interaction.

Your contributions will significantly influence millions of users through products and services that leverage advanced technology.

You will gain practical experience with diverse text and structured data sources, as well as extensive computing resources to enhance comprehension and application.

We are actively seeking talent in various domains of human technology, including NLU, Dialog Management, Conversational AI, LLMs, and Generative AI.


Daily Activities

The Next Gen DevX (NGDE) team at ZipRecruiter utilizes generative AI and foundational models to transform the experience of all developers.

From integrated development environments (IDEs) to web-based tools and services, AI will assist engineers in developing applications of all sizes. We are committed to exploring new technologies and discovering innovative solutions. A curious and exploratory mindset is essential for making a meaningful impact on engineers worldwide.


Team Overview

The Utility Computing (UC) division at ZipRecruiter is dedicated to delivering product innovations, ranging from fundamental services to consistently released new features that distinguish our offerings in the industry.

As part of the UC team, you will support the development and management of services related to Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Applications, including specialized security solutions for our cloud services.


Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in building models for business applications
  • PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field
  • Proven track record of patents or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
  • Experience in areas including algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, and high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the labor market across various geographic regions. The base salary for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
