As a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our Sponsored Products platform. Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Sponsored Products ecosystem and pinpoint opportunities for growth through advanced AI methodologies.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to fellow applied scientists, ensuring adherence to high standards of excellence in machine learning practices.
- Design and spearhead AI initiatives aimed at enriching the shopping experience for Amazon customers while generating long-term value for our sellers.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to leverage your expertise in meeting performance and system requirements.
- Identify and explore innovative, high-risk technical avenues, leading research efforts to fruition.
- Communicate our AI advancements to both internal stakeholders and the broader scientific community.
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing machine learning models for commercial applications.
- A PhD or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of applied research experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience with deep learning techniques and machine learning frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in developing and deploying generative AI solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will also have:
- Familiarity with modeling tools like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, and scipy.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark.
