We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist II to join our team at Amazon Web Services, Inc. - A97. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge natural language processing (NLP) technologies to enhance our conversational AI systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in NLP
  • Collaborate with internationally recognized experts to develop and deploy NLP solutions
  • Work with large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in language understanding
  • Contribute to the development of industry-leading conversational AI systems
Requirements
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in building models for business applications
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Unix/Linux
  • Experience in professional software development

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
