About the Role

AWS AI Research and Engineering (AIRE) is in search of exceptional scientists and engineers dedicated to advancing the development of autonomous AI agents. In this role, you will innovate, implement, and deploy cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and systems. Your responsibilities will include building prototypes and exploring new learning methodologies. You will collaborate closely with our clients as well as the academic and research communities, placing you at the forefront of a dynamic and exciting focus area for AWS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of large-scale foundation models that have significantly contributed to advancements in computer vision, natural language processing, automatic speech recognition, recommendation systems, and time series analysis.
  • Lead technical initiatives with expertise in machine learning, large language models, multimodal models, reinforcement learning, and the establishment of simulation environments for benchmarking and evaluation.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) is at the heart of product innovations, offering foundational services such as Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Basic Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in patents or publications at leading peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in professional software development.
  • Proven track record in building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
